‘Abu-Ghazaleh Digital Global’ and IASCA Participate in the 2026 World Standard-setters Conference in London

in the Conference Reflects Our Commitment to Shaping the Future of the
Accounting and Auditing Profession
LONDON - Representing HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and
chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD) and chair of
International Arab Society of Certified Accountants (IASCA), Mr. Salem Al-Ouri,
IASCA executive director, participated in the annual World Standard-setters
Conference (WSS). The Conference was organized by the IFRS Foundation, held in
London on September 28 - 29, 2026.
This participation highlights Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s long-standing role
through his extensive involvement and service on standards boards since their
establishment, supporting international efforts to advance the accounting and
auditing profession. It also reflects his ongoing commitment to strengthening
cooperation with international organizations responsible for developing and
enhancing financial reporting and sustainability standards. These efforts aim to
keep pace with global economic developments and enhance the quality of
financial reporting.
The Conference serves as a premier international platform for
discussing the latest advancements in financial reporting and sustainability
standards, bringing together prominent leaders, experts, and representatives of
standard-setting bodies from around the world.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that this participation reflects the
commitment of TAG.GD and IASCA to supporting international efforts aimed at
advancing the accounting and auditing profession, as well as strengthening
cooperation with international organizations dedicated to developing and
enhancing financial reporting and sustainability standards, while keeping pace
with global economic developments and efforts to improve the highest standards of
financial reporting.
The Conference agenda featured specialized sessions addressing the
latest developments at the IFRS Foundation, the work of the International
Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and the International Sustainability
Standards Board (ISSB), as well as discussions on several recently issued international
standards and related topics.
Additionally, the Conference sessions addressed IFRS 18 (Presentation
and Disclosure in Financial Statements), developments in financial instruments
projects, the implementation of sustainability disclosure standards, and
progress in the adoption of sustainability disclosure standards across
different countries.
IFRS 18 is of particular importance in enhancing the presentation
of financial statements and the clarity of financial information. Its
implementation was a key topic of discussion at the Conference, particularly in
light of its upcoming effective date next year.
The World Standard-setters Conference is one of the leading
international professional gatherings bringing together national and regional bodies
involved in setting, developing, and adopting international standards. It
serves as a platform for exchanging expertise, discussing the priorities of the
International Accounting Standards Board, reviewing developments and future
