The art of Quilling dates back some 500 years ago and we have discovered that there is a large segment in the society who is interested in the art of Quilling which means modern day Quilling is still gaining popularity - Hammad

AMMAN ------November 3, 2010 ------- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-Knowledge) has introduced and for the first time a comprehensive workshop on Quilling Art.

Quilling is the art of creating little rolls from delicate strips of paper and shaping them into complicated designs.

Mr. Tareq Hammad, TAG-Knowledge executive director said: "The art of Quilling dates back some 500 years ago and we have discovered that there is a large segment in the society who is interested in the art of Quilling which means modern day Quilling is still gaining popularity."

UAE's Ms. Farrah Al Fardh who has crafted a success story from her creative hobby of quilling headed the workshop which was attended by a host of students and enthusiast who wanted to learn the artistic way of Quilling.

Paper Quilling requires today, just as it did when it first began, patience, agility, and good eyesight.

Attendees enjoyed the history of Quilling, the art of rolled paper and also explored patterns and forms found in nature.
